My Top Ten Songs of 2007 (in order)
Wow! What a year for music. When I look back there was so much good music released…and some really stellar albums. I’d have to put Arcade Fire, Wilco, Fujiya&Miyagi, and LCD Soundsystem as the best of the full album experiences of 2007. However, pound for pound, the best song was by far North American Scum (Lyrics, Video). It dominated my playlists from the summer through the fall....
ROCKS!
Just back from seeing Neil Young at the United Palace…WOW. Acoustic set ended with After the Gold Rush. Electric set kicked off with Mr. Soul…ended with Cinammon Girl into Cortez the Killer. Holy shit. Oh, and I was 5th row DEAD center. Donald Fagan was two rows behind me…Bill Flanagan just in front of me…and Jon Landau across the aisle. Un-freakin real.
At Bowery Ballroom to see Elvis Perkins.
At joes pub to see loser lounge tribute to paul mccartney…they just did jet…starting let em in

Changed my strategy on Friday
Because of the rain, speed broke down in almost every early race today. As a result, I changed my strategy on the three races and wound up dead even on the day. I did not bet Dream Rush in the 8th, but kept money on Maryfield, who won. I went across the board on Nownownow and Cannonball in the 9th for profit, but also lost on boxing The Leopard and Prussian. At that point I was up $60, which I bet...
Classic notes - Oct. 26, 2007
Any Given Saturday/Lawyer Ron – Both of trainer Todd Pletcher’s contenders for the Breeders’ Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge galloped 1 3/8m Friday morning. It has been pretty routine for them this week after their serious works at Belmont Park last Sunday – they paddock schooled on Wednesday and Thursday and have galloped every day. (via Hard Spun News)
